FAQ

1)What are the rated test voltages for the ME-W2871 Digital Megohmmeter?

Answer: This instrument has four rated test voltages: 500V, 1000V, 2000V, and 2500V. The operating voltage is rated voltage ±10% (load ≥ 20MΩ), meeting insulation testing requirements for various electrical equipment.

2) When is the G terminal (protective ring) required during testing with this instrument? How should it be used?

Answer: The G terminal must be used when:
- Ambient relative humidity exceeds 80%
- Test voltage is ≥2500V
- Eliminating surface leakage current errors is necessary when measuring high insulation resistance values. Usage: Place a conductive protective ring over the surface between the two test terminals of the specimen. Connect the protective ring to the instrument's G terminal using test leads to ensure measurement accuracy.

3)What should be done when the instrument display shows a low-battery symbol? What precautions should be taken when shutting down after testing?

Answer: The low-voltage symbol indicates insufficient battery power; replace the batteries promptly. Shutdown precautions: First, turn off the high voltage by pressing the high-voltage switch. After the high-voltage indicator light turns off, rotate the knob to OFF to shut down the power. For capacitive test specimens, discharge any residual charge before disconnecting the test leads to prevent electric shock.
