Prodection details

The instrument is suitable for testing the insulation performance of power systems and various high-voltage, high-capacity electrical equipment, complying with power testing regulations. Specific application scenarios include:

Electrical Equipment Testing: Covers insulation performance testing for cables (core-to-sheath, core-to-core insulation), motors, generators, transformers (high-voltage-to-ground, high-to-low-voltage-end, low-voltage-to-ground insulation), instrument transformers, high-voltage switches, surge arresters, coupling capacitors, and other equipment.

Test Item Adaptability: Capable of performing routine insulation resistance testing, absorption ratio testing, and polarization index testing. Provides preliminary safety assurance and accurate judgment basis for subsequent insulation performance tests such as leakage current, dielectric loss, and partial discharge.

Environmental and Scenario Adaptability: Operates under ambient temperatures of 0°C to 40°C and relative humidity ≤70% RH. Meets insulation testing requirements in scenarios including power operation and maintenance, equipment maintenance, and factory acceptance testing, particularly

FAQ

1)What test functions does the ME20W Smart Dual-Display Insulation Resistance Tester support? What are the core operational differences?

Answer:
This instrument supports three core test functions, with the following key operational differences:
Standard Insulation Resistance Test: Access via the "R" key on the panel. Initiate the test after activating the high-voltage output key. After deactivating the high voltage, manually confirm and save the data. Suitable for rapid assessment of equipment's basic insulation performance.
Absorption Ratio Test: Enter via the "K" key. After high voltage output, the instrument automatically times for 60 seconds, capturing resistance values at 15 seconds and 60 seconds to calculate the absorption ratio (e.g., 1.08 for 1.02GΩ at 15 seconds and 1.11GΩ at 60 seconds). Results are automatically saved upon high voltage shutdown.
Polarization Index Test: Enter via the "PI" key. The operation procedure is identical to the absorption ratio test, with only the test type identifier marked as "PI." This evaluates the long-term insulation stability of the equipment.

2) When measuring equipment subject to external electromagnetic field interference (e.g., surge arresters, coupling capacitors), how should one operate to ensure test accuracy?

Answer:
Interference must be eliminated via the shielding terminal (GUARD) connection. Specific steps are as follows:
During wiring, connect the instrument's shielding terminal (GUARD) to the shielding layer of the tested equipment (e.g., the upper flange of a surge arrester).
For tested items with two or more sections (e.g., surge arresters), interference currents generated by upper high-voltage lines, etc., will be intercepted by the shielding terminal and bypass the main test circuit, preventing interference impact.
For the uppermost section of a surge arrester, connect its upper flange to the instrument's EARTH terminal before grounding. This directs interference currents directly to ground (though this method is slightly less effective than shielded terminal wiring).
For standard testing, connect the L terminal (high-voltage output) to the high-voltage conductor of the device under test, and connect the E terminal (earth terminal) to the low-voltage end or ground. Ensure test leads do not drag on the ground to further reduce interference.

3)What are the key precautions regarding wiring, safety operations, and data management when using the instrument?

Answer:
Wiring precautions: Test leads must not touch the ground; for standard testing, connect the L terminal (high-voltage output) to the high-voltage conductor of the test object, and the E terminal (ground terminal) to the low-voltage end or ground; when shielding interference is required, connect the GUARD terminal to the shielding layer of the test object (e.g., the flange of a surge arrester).
Safety Operation: Never touch high-voltage leads when the high-voltage output indicator is lit. Do not disconnect test leads during testing. For high-capacitance loads, discharge before testing and allow several tens of seconds (over 1 minute for extremely large loads) after testing before disconnecting leads.
Data Management: The instrument stores 200 sets of historical data (including test values, voltage, time, and test type). Access via "System - Historical Data" and navigate pages using left/right keys. Calibrate device time using the "Modify Time" function to ensure accurate data traceability.
