High & Low Voltage Remote Phase Detector

Product Overview

The MOEORW-W9899T high and low voltage remote phase detection system is developed to resolve the confusion of phase marking on power distribution lines caused by new line construction, line relocation and interleaving of overhead lines and power cables.Combining mobile internet and GPS & Beidou time synchronization technology, the system consists of a base station and portable handheld terminals. The base station collects phase signals from a 220V power supply, calibrates the reference phase for 10kV lines and transmits standard phase data to the server. Handheld devices acquire on-site phase signals, and the server processes data to identify A/B/C phase of measured lines uniformly. This system realizes unified phase reference across the coverage area and eliminates errors brought by disordered line phase color marking in power grid operation and maintenance. The system supports network-based and offline phase detection modes, and multiple handheld units can work with one base station simultaneously. It features high measurement accuracy, strong environmental adaptability and automatic data processing, which is widely applicable for phase verification of overhead lines, power cables and related power facilities in power distribution networks.

Working Principle

The base station is powered by 220V AC power, continuously collects three-phase reference phase signals and completes phase calibration for target voltage levels. Equipped with GPS/Beidou timing module and 4G communication module, the base station sends standard phase data to the cloud server every 10 seconds. The handheld terminal and transmitters capture real-time phase signals from field lines, and synchronize time via satellite positioning. Data of reference phase and field measured phase are uploaded to the server through mobile network. After data comparison and calculation, the server returns phase identification results to the handheld terminal for display and voice broadcast. In areas without mobile network, the handheld terminal can store measured phase data locally first. After reconnecting to the network, data will be synchronized with the server to complete phase detection. The system judges in-phase and out-of-phase based on phase angle difference with unified judging criteria.

Main Features

1) Unified Reference Standard The fixed base station continuously outputs standard three-phase reference signals. It unifies the phase standard within the coverage area and solves the problem of inconsistent phase color marking on distribution lines.

2) Multi-terminal Collaborative Operation One base station can support up to 200 handheld terminals to perform phase detection simultaneously, meeting the working demands of large-scale on-site operation.

3) Intelligent Power Saving Design The base station automatically enters sleep mode when no handheld terminal is in operation, reducing mobile network traffic and power consumption effectively.

4) Multi-network Compatibility The base station supports 2G/3G/4G networks of mainstream telecom operators, ensuring stable communication in different regional network environments.

5) Flexible Phase Calibration Built-in phase angle difference calibration function enables the base station to calibrate 380V three-phase signals to different voltage levels (mainly 10kV), adapting to various power grid voltage grades.

6) Dual Timing Mode Switching Both base station and handheld terminal automatically switch between PPS mode and satellite timing mode according to GPS signal strength, guaranteeing synchronous measurement precision.

7) Offline Detection Function The handheld terminal can store phase data locally in areas without mobile network. After moving to network-covered areas, data synchronization and phase detection can be completed normally.

8) Automatic Data Processing All data interaction and calculation are completed by the system automatically, avoiding manual operation errors and improving test reliability.

9) Intelligent Power Management The handheld terminal will power off automatically after 1 hour of inactivity. All portable devices adopt 3.7V rechargeable lithium batteries with unified 5V 1A charger for convenient power supply.

10) Voice Prompt Function The handheld terminal is equipped with voice broadcast function, which can report operation steps and final phase detection results clearly.

11) High Voltage Safety Prompt When the transmitter contacts live high-voltage lines, the built-in buzzer will alarm and two indicator lights flash alternately to remind operators of live status.

Application Scope

  • Phase detection and phase sequence verification for overhead distribution lines and power cables (3V ~ 220kV)
  • Phase checking for new-built, reconstructed and relocated power lines
  • Phase verification of switchgear live display terminals
  • Routine operation, maintenance and acceptance test of urban power distribution network
  • Unified phase standard calibration for regional power grid

Executive Standards

This equipment complies with GB13398-92, GB311.1~311.6-8, 3DL408-91 and DL/T971-2005 General Technical Conditions for 1kV~110kV Portable Phase Detectors for Live Working. The matching insulating rod meets IEC/1C78 standard.

Daily Maintenance & Care

1. For long-term storage of handheld terminals and transmitters, fully charge the batteries in advance and recharge every 3 months to protect battery performance.

2. Install the base station in dry, low-dust and vibration-free environment, and keep away from strong electromagnetic interference and high temperature areas.

3. Conduct withstand voltage test on the insulating rod before first use, and perform regular withstand voltage test once a year thereafter.

4. Keep GPS and 4G antennas of the base station unobstructed to ensure normal signal reception.

Safety Precautions

1. Operate strictly in accordance with the safety distance standards for high voltage testing specified by power industry regulations during field tests.

2. The standard 3m insulating rod is only applicable for lines ≤220kV. Equip longer insulating rods when measuring lines above 220kV.

3. Do not replace the original 3.7V lithium batteries of handheld terminals and transmitters with other types of batteries.

4. When testing low-voltage circuits, connect the grounding wire to the charging port of the transmitter reliably.

FAQ

Q1: What should I do if the handheld terminal fails to connect GPS signal?

A: Move the device to open outdoor areas, remove shelters above the GPS antenna, and wait 1~3 minutes for signal locking.

Q2: Can phase detection be performed completely without mobile network?

A: Complete detection needs network support. You can record data offline first, then connect to network to get final results.

Q3: What do different buzzer sounds of the transmitter mean?

A: 3 beeps: Sufficient power; 2 beeps: Normal usable power; Continuous beeping: Low power, please charge in time.

Q4: Why phase detection result is abnormal when using live display terminal as test point?

A: Live display terminals may cause phase shift. It is recommended to conduct tests directly on primary lines for higher accuracy.

Q5: How to judge in-phase and out-of-phase results?

A: Phase angle difference less than 30° is judged as in-phase; phase angle difference equal to or more than 30° is judged as out-of-phase.
