Recently, Engineer Wang from Wuhan Moen Intelligent Electric traveled to a testing service company in Hebei to carry out on-site delivery, assembly and commissioning of safety tool withstand voltage test equipment. Meanwhile, he delivered full-process special training for withstand voltage tests of insulating tools. Faced with test tripping issues caused by power supply conditions at the site, Engineer Wang quickly located the root cause and collaborated with the customer to complete rectification. The delivery and training mission was successfully accomplished, helping the customer build standardized testing capabilities for safety insulating tools.
Part 01 On-site Equipment Assembly and Power-on Commissioning
The safety tool withstand voltage test equipment delivered in this project is mainly used for insulation withstand voltage testing of electric safety tools such as insulating boots, insulating gloves and insulating rods. It fully complies with national standards for safety tool testing and meets the customer's requirements for external testing and periodic calibration services.
After the equipment arrived at the site, Engineer Wang immediately unpacked and checked the goods. He completed assembly and wiring layout in accordance with specifications, verified all hardware modules item by item, and performed power-on commissioning. The whole machine was in good hardware condition, all functional modules passed self-inspection, and the system was ready for practical training and simulation testing.
Part 02 Sudden Test Tripping: Technical Breakthrough to Resolve On-site Difficulties
During the simulation withstand voltage test of insulating tools, the upstream air switch tripped frequently every time the equipment boosted voltage, halting the test. Engineer Wang suspended the test immediately and conducted a comprehensive safety check. After ruling out equipment failure, he targeted the on-site power supply circuit as the source of the fault.
After step-by-step verification, the root cause was confirmed: the upstream distribution air switch at the customer site was equipped with residual current protection. During voltage boosting, the withstand voltage test equipment generates a certain capacitive leakage current. The residual current switch misidentified this normal capacitive current as a leakage signal, triggering repeated protective tripping and blocking test operations.
After identifying the problem, Engineer Wang clearly explained the fault principle and electrical risks to the customer. He assisted the customer in replacing the switch with a matching non-residual-current-protection air switch. After switch replacement and wiring recheck, the withstand voltage simulation test was restarted. The closing and voltage boosting operated stably, the tripping fault was completely eliminated, and the equipment returned to normal test conditions.
Part 03 Three-in-one Special Training: Master the Core Capabilities of Safety Tool Withstand Voltage Testing
Once the power supply issue was resolved, special training on withstand voltage testing for insulating tools was launched. Adopting a three-in-one model combining theoretical lectures, real-machine operation and on-site Q&A review, Engineer Wang delivered one-on-one on-site teaching to fully transfer the complete set of testing capabilities to participating inspectors.
Theoretical Module Explain national standard requirements and test principles for safety tool withstand voltage tests, judgment criteria for various insulating tools, and key safety control points for high-voltage test sites.
Practical Operation Module Demonstrate the full operation workflow: sample placement and wiring for insulating boots, gloves and rods, voltage boosting operation, withstand voltage timing, result reading, equipment shutdown and daily maintenance.
Q&A & Review Module Explain common error-prone points in tool testing, typical abnormal test phenomena, and the influence of power supply environment on withstand voltage tests. Combine this tripping case to popularize distribution switch selection notes and share rapid fault troubleshooting ideas.
Part 04 Technical Empowerment to Consolidate Customer Testing Services
The full-cycle work including safety tool withstand voltage equipment delivery, fault troubleshooting and special training was completed, supplementing the customer's hardware capacity for insulating safety tool testing and laying a solid foundation for their periodic inspection business of electric safety tools.
From pre-sales solution selection, on-site assembly and commissioning, on-site problem rectification, to one-on-one practical training, Wuhan Moen adheres to the full-cycle closed-loop service covering pre-sales, on-site and after-sales support. In the follow-up phase, we will continuously provide customers with remote technical consultation, equipment calibration, rapid fault response and localized technical services to support stable operation and business expansion of customer testing services.
