FAQ

1)What pulse sampling methods does the MEDX-W1K multifunctional single-phase electricity meter field calibrator support, and what scenarios are they respectively applicable to?

Answer:
Three pulse sampling methods are available, each suited for distinct scenarios:
1. Photoelectric Sampling: Applicable to both mechanical rotary-disc meters and electronic meters. A photoelectric sampler attached to the meter captures the disc rotation or electronic pulse signals. A lit red light indicates mechanical meter mode, while an unlit red light indicates electronic meter mode.
2. Pulse Signal Line: Exclusive to electronic meters. Connect the pulse input line's pulse input and GND terminals to the high and low ends of the electronic meter's pulse output, respectively. Plug the other end into the instrument's six-pin socket to initiate sampling.
3. Manual Control: Used when no photoelectric sampler is available. Press the M manual control key on the calibration interface. When the meter's rotor completes the preset number of revolutions, press the M key again. The instrument will manually calculate one error measurement.

2) What types of operating power sources does the MEDX-W1K Multifunction Single-Phase Electricity Meter Field Calibrator support, and what are their respective features?

Answer:
The instrument supports three operating power types with the following characteristics:
1. Measurement Terminal Power Supply: Connecting an AC 80V–450V voltage signal directly powers on the instrument and enters operational mode without additional steps. Suitable for field scenarios with stable voltage signals.
2. Lithium Battery Power: Equipped with a built-in 2200mAh/7.4V lithium battery, it can operate continuously for 8 hours without an external power source. When the battery is low, the battery capacity indicator in the upper right corner will alert the user. Recharging requires the dedicated AC220V/DC12V power adapter.
3. Power Adapter Supply: Connect the adapter to AC220V mains power to output DC12V voltage. This can directly power the instrument or charge the built-in lithium battery. When fully charged, the battery capacity indicator displays "IIIII" without flashing.

3)What precautions should be taken when using the MEDX-W1K Multifunction Single-Phase Energy Meter Field Calibrator with a clamp-on current transformer?

Answer:
Five key points for using the clamp-on current transformer:
1. Wipe any contaminants from the core end face of the jaw before use to prevent measurement inaccuracies.
2. Position the current-carrying conductor at the geometric center of the jaws to minimize measurement errors in current amplitude.
3. During field measurements (especially with low currents), maintain distance from power transformers, other current-carrying conductors, and magnetic interference sources.
4. Ensure correct current direction: current flows into the colored side of the clamp and out through the gray side.
5. Before measurement, connect the clamp-on current transformer to the meter port first, then turn on the meter's power switch. Finally, clamp the jaws onto the current-carrying conductor. Avoid clamping the meter first and then connecting the instrument port, as this may cause a secondary open circuit in the transformer.
