2)How does a gas chromatograph work?

Gas chromatography employs gas as the mobile phase (carrier gas). When a sample is introduced into the injector and vaporized, it is carried by the carrier gas into a packed column or capillary column. Due to differences in boiling points, polarity, and adsorption coefficients among the sample components, these components are separated within the column. Subsequently, a detector connected to the column detects each component sequentially based on its physicochemical properties. Finally, the data is transmitted via network to the chromatography workstation, which records and analyzes the gas chromatograms of each component to generate a comprehensive analytical report
