The ME-W3001 Overhead Line Fault Locator is specifically designed for 10kV (compatible with 35kV) low-current grounding systems, enabling precise location of single-phase ground faults. Comprising a signal generator and line-tracking sensors, it employs the "S-injection method" principle to detect high-resistance and concealed faults. Operation requires line de-energization. By injecting differential-frequency signals and employing a binary search method, this portable device is easy to carry and adapts to harsh environments and nighttime operations. It significantly enhances fault-finding efficiency, ensuring reliable power supply.

FAQ

1)Can the ME-W3001 Overhead Line Fault Locator detect faults in insulated lines?

Answer: Yes. During the signal injection phase, connect the signal output cable to the insulated rod attached to the line's grounding ring. Note that the detection process must focus on the line's inherent signal, avoiding signals from distribution transformer leads and grounding rings to prevent misjudgment.

2)Why is it sometimes necessary to segment the line when using the ME-W3001 Overhead Line Fault Locator?

Answer: When ground resistance is high, line distributed capacitance can interfere with detection results, potentially preventing accurate fault location or causing misjudgment. By disconnecting the line segment switch to divide the line into 2-3 segments for separate testing, the impact of distributed capacitance is effectively reduced, improving fault detection success rates.

3)Why doesn't the clamp meter of the ME-W3001 Overhead Line Fault Locator use an extendable probe rod?

Answer: Although telescopic probes appear convenient, in actual operation, the thinner head of the extended probe tends to sway, making it difficult to accurately align the clamp meter during conductor clamping and affecting measurement accuracy. Therefore, this type of probe is not provided.
